To adapt your toys for switch Access you will need: Any Single Switch and a Toy Cable (3 feet long).   Any battery-operated toy or appliance with AA, C or D batteries.

Insert the copper disk at the end of the Toy Cable between the battery and battery contact.  Turn the toy on - it should not work, since you have interrupted its connection to the battery.  Plug your switch into the 1/8" jack at the other end of the Toy Cable.  Activate the switch to operate the toy.      (batteries sold separately)

Encourage students to work together, while reinforcing simultaneous motor activity! This simple series adapter requires two students to activate two switches simultaneously to operate the desired toy or appliance. It can also be used by one student for encouraging bilateral hand function. (Toy not included)

Normally when a switch is plugged into a device, it turns it on for only as long as the switch is activated - when you let go of the switch, the device turns off.  To change this action so that the device remains on even after you let go of the switch, you need a Switch Latch and Timer.

This SLAT gives two speople the ability to take turns operating battery-powered devices, or one person the ability to activate two devices in sequence or experience the power of choice when deciding between two activities.
