NEMO+
is the
answer to the question “How do you turn on a light when you can’t use your
hands?” It improves the quality of life for people with limited mobility by
providing a simple way for them to interact with and control
their surroundings. It is a portable device that transmits infrared signals to
control many items in the home, including lights, televisions, VCRs, doors, a
phone, fan, bed and more.
|
 |
|
Speak, Control, Relax NEMO+ is a simple
and powerful Electronic Aid to
Daily Living (EADL), a portable device that accepts voice commands or switch
access and turns
them into signals that will control your home. Finally, a device that doesn't mind being told what to do. Dozens of commands
can easily be programmed to control: |
 |
-
lights
- television
- stereo
-
Nemo phone or other IR
controled speakerphones
(optional)
|
-
your doors
- fans
-
motorized hospital
beds
|

All this from a device
about the size of a clock radio that mounts quickly to your wheelchair or
bedside.
How NEMO+ Works
NEMO+ transmits infrared signals in all directions, just
like your TV's remote control. It can learn Infrared commands from any other
remote and comes with built-in codes for X-10 (lights and doors) and hospital beds,
as well as special high-quality speaker telephones (optional). Are voice
commands a problem? No sweat. Just use one of the other access methods that are
built-in:
- voice
- switch (Buddy Button)
- joystick
- wheelchair controls
(ECU Interface required)
NEMO+ keeps things simple. Its commands are organized into logical menus that prompt you what to say. It
even repeats commands back to you to confirm they were accepted.

Multiple Control Methods with
Flexibility |
Receives orders from voice or movement (sensor,
breath, joystick...) making NEMO+ easy to control and adapt. Voice training takes less than
10 minutes - no computer
required. Record each command a few times and from then on, NEMO+ listens
only to your voice. Because of NEMO+'s Flexibility it is possible
to change the words place, to cancel words individually, and to decide if
after a choice NEMO+ stays in the menu or goes back to stand by. You
can also use a single switch (like a Buddy button) to
scan the menus using visual or auditory cues. This is great in
situations in which voice
is not a desired primary access method. Can also be integrated with
most wheelchairs to use the joysticks as an access method.. |
